In the mainline Pokemon games, Mega Evolution is a temporary form of evolution used in battle. It was introduced in the sixth generation of Pokemon games, and there are 46 species of Pokemon that can mega evolve. As the announcement for Pokemon Go’s introduction of the mechanic was brief, there is no word yet on which Mega Evolution forms will be available, but it’s sensible to assume that if a Pokemon in Pokemon Go can Mega Evolve in the core games, then it stands a chance of doing the same in the mobile game.
In other news from Pokemon Presents, Pokemon Snap is coming to Switch, and a new free-to-start game, Pokemon Cafe Mix, is coming to Switch and mobile.
